You need a cough assist? You can wait.

So when mommy didn't hear from the doctors office by noon, she called to check on the appt. Can you believe that no one there knew anything about it? Yeah, mommy believed it too. Par for the course, mommy said. So I was so hot and daddy put the thermometer up my butt (I wanted to leave this part out but facts are facts!). I was hotter than I was supposed to be so mommy gave me Tylenol and called the pediatrician who then said she wanted to see me again. So for the third day in a row, we went back to see the doctor. Another antibiotic called in for me but nobody was available to train mommy on the cough assist machine. The pediatrician said I could wait til Monday. Mommy said that is ludicrous (hope I spelled that right) cause I have been sick for a week and now we have to get thru the weekend! And, I have another ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. Told you I feel bad! I mean, did you see my pictures? Embarrassing!
And on top of that, we get back in the car and wouldn't you know--dead battery! Thank goodness Papaw Bobby came in his police car and stopped traffic to help us. Par for the course!
Oh, and....happy birthday mommy! We got to spend the day together and as you always say--that's the most important thing!

  1. Oh Sophia Grace I am sorry you feel so bad. And it sounds like you and Mommy had a rough day. Silly doctors just don't understand that you all need some relief now. I hope this medicine helps you and you can have a good birthday evening with your mommy. luv ya!

  2. Jaime, everytime I read your blog posts...I cry. The way you write and tell Sophia's story is so heart felt by everyone who reads it. That baby does not deserve to suffer, and I'm so angry at the medical professionals who can't follow through on a simple "cough assist" machine for a child who needs it, for a child whose doctor wrote an order for...I'm so sorry Sophia. I'm so happy that you and mommy got to spend the day together on her birthday--and yes, your right-being together is the most important thing!

  3. I'm so happy I got to spend the day with two of my favourite people. Even though it was a trying day. Praying Sophia feels better tomorrow.
